Vapofil Dose Guide: Label Amounts Next to the Research
The label dose is two Vapofil capsules a day with water: 118 mg of listed actives, about 59 mg per capsule. Most amounts are a small share of studied doses. Saw palmetto is 20 mg against 320 mg, and tongkat ali is 10 mg of extract against at least 100 mg.

The label dose
What dose does the Vapofil label give?
Two capsules make one serving and one day.
| Ingredient (label) | Per serving (2 capsules) | Per capsule (our math) |
|---|---|---|
| Saw Palmetto Berry Extract | 20 mg | 10 mg |
| Wild Yam Root Extract | 20 mg | 10 mg |
| Sarsaparilla Root Extract | 20 mg | 10 mg |
| Nettle Leaf Extract | 20 mg | 10 mg |
| Boron Amino Acid Chelate 5% | 20 mg (about 1 mg of boron) | 10 mg (about 0.5 mg of boron) |
| Tongkat Ali, 100:1 extract | 10 mg | 5 mg |
| Horny Goat Weed, 10:1 extract | 8 mg | 4 mg |

How do Vapofil's amounts compare with studied doses?
Each bar is a studied or typical dose; the fill is two capsules. Try the toggle.

Saw palmetto berryAbout 1/16 of the studied amountLabel20 mgStudied320 mg a day6.2%
The usual trial dose. A Cochrane review of 27 studies still found little to no benefit for urinary symptoms. (Cochrane review, Saw palmetto)

No human study shows any dose does anything for men. The body cannot turn diosgenin into hormones. (MSKCC, Wild yam)
Label amounts per 2-capsule serving. Research figures: saw palmetto (Cochrane review, Saw palmetto), tongkat ali (LiverTox, Tongkat ali) (Leisegang 2022, Tongkat ali meta-analysis), boron (Boron study, 8 men) (NIH ODS, Boron), nettle (LiverTox, Stinging nettle), horny goat weed (LiverTox, Horny goat weed), sarsaparilla (EBSCO, Sarsaparilla), wild yam (MSKCC, Wild yam). A studied dose is not proof that a dose works. Never take more than the label's 2 capsules a day.
A study dose is not proof that a dose works. Even at the full 320 mg, the 2023 Cochrane review found little to no benefit from saw palmetto for urinary symptoms (Cochrane review, Saw palmetto). Tongkat ali effects showed mainly in men with low testosterone (Leisegang 2022, Tongkat ali meta-analysis), and details are on the tongkat ali page.
Extract ratios
What do the 100:1 and 10:1 ratios on the label mean?
A ratio tells you how much dry plant went into the extract.
- On the label10 mg of a 100:1 extractEach grey square is one part of dry plant; it takes 100 of them to make one blue square of extract.
- "Equivalent to"about 1,000 mg of dry root powderThe amount of raw plant used to make your 10 mg. It is not what you swallow.
- The trials100-200 mg of extract a day in the largest trialThat is 10 to 20 of the blue extract squares, or 1,000 to 2,000 of the grey powder squares. (LiverTox, Tongkat ali)
- On the label8 mg of a 10:1 extractEach grey square is one part of dry plant; it takes 10 of them to make one blue square of extract.
- "Equivalent to"about 80 mg of dry herbThe amount of raw plant used to make your 8 mg. It is not what you swallow.
- The researchNo proven dose; products are 250-500 mgMost evidence comes from lab and animal studies. (MSKCC, Epimedium) (LiverTox, Horny goat weed)
What the ratio tells you
- Roughly how much dry plant went into the extract.
- That the extract is a concentrate, not plain ground root.
What it does not tell you
- How much of the active compounds (such as eurycomanone or icariin) is inside.
- That you get the effect of 1,000 mg. Trials weighed extract, so compare extract with extract.
- That the ratio was tested. No lab result or standard is given.
Federal label rules say an extract is listed by the weight of the dried extract (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement labels), which is why 10 mg is the number to compare. In one review, only 11 of 41 tongkat ali products met the recommended level of eurycomanone (Leisegang 2022, Tongkat ali meta-analysis).
Federal label rules weigh an extract as the dried extract itself (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement labels), so you swallow 10 mg of tongkat ali. The "equivalent to approximately 1000mg" line describes the root that went in, not a dose. The tongkat ali trials weighed extract too, at 100 to 600 mg a day (Leisegang 2022, Tongkat ali meta-analysis).
Horny goat weed works the same way. Common products hold 250 or 500 mg (LiverTox, Horny goat weed). More is in our post on what extract ratios mean on a label.
Five numbers
Which Vapofil dose numbers matter most?
Safety
Should you take more Vapofil capsules to match the studies?
No. The label says "Do not exceed recommended dose," and that dose is two capsules.
Reaching 320 mg of saw palmetto would take 32 capsules a day. Reaching 100 mg of tongkat ali extract would take 20. Neither is safe to try, and tongkat ali is a possible rare cause of liver injury (LiverTox, Tongkat ali).
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before trying any ingredient at a studied dose.
Daily use
How should you take the Vapofil dose?
The label says two capsules daily with an 8 oz glass of water, at no set time. The sales page adds "preferably in the morning" (Vapofil sales page, Prices and guarantee).
- One bottle of 60 lasts 30 days at two a day.
- Do not use the bottle if the safety seal is damaged or missing.
Routines, storage and travel tips are on the how to use page.

Bottom line
What does the Vapofil dose math mean for you?
Vapofil is open about its amounts, and they are small. That makes side effects less likely for most healthy men, and benefits hard to expect. No trial has tested the product.
If erections are the concern, see a doctor before any supplement. ED can be an early sign of heart disease or diabetes. For the sales page's sexual and hormone claims, which we do not repeat, see the sales claims page.
FAQ
Vapofil dose FAQ
How many Vapofil capsules should I take a day?
Two. The label says to take two capsules daily with an 8 oz glass of water, and two capsules make one serving. It sets no time of day, though the sales page suggests the morning. The label also says not to exceed the recommended dose.
Can I take 4 Vapofil capsules a day?
The label says not to. Its caution reads "Do not exceed recommended dose," and that dose is two capsules. Doubling would still leave most ingredients far below studied amounts. Ask your doctor before any change.
Is the tongkat ali in Vapofil 10 mg or 1,000 mg?
You swallow 10 mg of a 100:1 extract per serving. The label's 1,000 mg figure is the dry root used to make it. Trials gave 100 to 600 mg of extract a day, so compare 10 mg with those.
How much elemental boron do two Vapofil capsules give?
About 1 mg of boron a day. The chelate weighs 20 mg, and boron makes up 5% of it, which comes to 1 mg. Food already gives most adults 0.87 to 1.35 mg a day, and the adult upper limit is 20 mg.
Does Vapofil have enough saw palmetto to matter?
It is one-sixteenth of the 320 mg a day used in prostate trials. Even at 320 mg, a 2023 Cochrane review of 27 studies found little to no benefit for urinary symptoms. No study suggests 20 mg does more.
What does 100:1 mean on the Vapofil tongkat ali line?
It means about 100 parts of dry plant were concentrated into one part of extract. The weight on the label is the extract you swallow. On Vapofil, 10 mg of 100:1 tongkat ali extract came from about 1,000 mg of root.
