Ingredients

Vapofil Ingredients: Seven Actives, Every Milligram Printed

Quick answer

Vapofil lists seven actives per two capsules: saw palmetto, wild yam, sarsaparilla, nettle leaf and boron chelate at 20 mg each, tongkat ali at 10 mg and horny goat weed at 8 mg. That is 118 mg in all, fully disclosed. Most amounts are a small fraction of the doses used in research.

The formula

What ingredients are on the Vapofil label?

The Vapofil label lists seven active ingredients, each with its own amount. Five sit at 20 mg each; two are concentrated extracts with printed ratios.

Printing every amount is a real strength: there is no "proprietary blend," so anyone can check the label against the research. The brand's "Inside Vapofil" graphic shows only six ingredients and no amounts. When the two disagree, we follow the label.

The brand's graphic names six ingredients and gives no amounts. The label adds horny goat weed at 8 mg and prints every dose.

Profiles

Which ingredient profile should you read first?

Eight cards: the seven actives plus the capsule itself. Hover or tap a card for what it is and what to watch for.

How do Vapofil's amounts compare with studied doses?

The label amount per day next to the amount used in research or typical products.

Where a research dose exists, Vapofil's amount is between about 1/16 and 1/10 of it. Even at full research doses, saw palmetto showed little to no benefit for urinary symptoms in a 2023 Cochrane review (Cochrane review, Saw palmetto). The full math, including the extract ratios, is in the Vapofil dose guide.

Per capsule

What else fills a Vapofil capsule?

Each capsule holds about 59 mg of listed actives. The rest is microcrystalline cellulose as a filler, a gelatin shell and a little magnesium stearate to help the powder flow. None is an active ingredient.

Label vs marketing

Where do the label and the sales page disagree?

Three mismatches, and in each case the label wins.

  • Horny goat weed. On the label at 8 mg, but missing from the brand graphic and from our seller brief's named list.
  • Nettle. The label says nettle leaf. The sales page FAQ calls it nettle root. Prostate research used root, so the label's leaf is a different ingredient (LiverTox, Stinging nettle).
  • Gelatin. A brand roundel says "Vegetarian," yet the other ingredients include gelatin, an animal product. The capsule page covers this in detail.

The sales page also attaches sexual and hormone claims to these ingredients. We do not repeat them here; each one is checked on the sales claims page.

What is missing

Which common men's ingredients are not in Vapofil?

Not on the label

Vapofil lists no L-arginine, maca, ginseng, yohimbe or zinc. When comparing products, compare printed amounts, not list length. NCCIH notes there is no definite evidence that any herbal product is safe or effective for erectile dysfunction (NCCIH, Sexual enhancement supplements).

Before you start

Which Vapofil ingredients need a medicine check?

The amounts are small, so problems are less likely for most healthy men. Tongkat ali is still a possible rare cause of liver injury (LiverTox, Tongkat ali), and horny goat weed is not advised with heart disease (MSKCC, Epimedium).

See a doctor about erection problems

Erection problems can be the first clue to heart disease or diabetes (AUA, ED guideline) (NIDDK, ED causes). A checkup comes before any supplement. Every caution is on the side effects page.

FAQ

Vapofil ingredients FAQ

Which Vapofil ingredient has the most research behind it?

Saw palmetto. A 2023 Cochrane review pooled 27 studies with 4,656 men at about 320 mg a day and found little to no benefit for urinary symptoms (Cochrane review, Saw palmetto). Vapofil lists 20 mg. More research does not mean a better result.

Does Vapofil contain L-arginine, maca or ginseng?

No. The label lists no L-arginine, maca, ginseng, yohimbe or zinc. Its seven actives are saw palmetto, wild yam, sarsaparilla, nettle leaf, boron chelate, tongkat ali and horny goat weed.

Is there a proprietary blend in Vapofil?

No. Every active ingredient has its own printed amount, which is less common than it should be. You can check each dose against research yourself.

Why are the doses in Vapofil so low?

The label and the sales page do not explain it. We can only report the numbers: most amounts are between about 1/16 and 1/10 of the doses used in studies, and no trial has tested this combination.

Is the boron in Vapofil a lot?

No. The 20 mg of 5% chelate holds about 1 mg of boron, close to a day's intake from food and far below the 20 mg adult upper limit (NIH ODS, Boron). The one small study often cited used 10 mg a day (Boron study, 8 men).

Which Vapofil ingredients can interact with medicines?

Saw palmetto with blood thinners (MSKCC, Saw palmetto), nettle possibly with diuretics and blood pressure drugs (MSKCC, Nettle), and horny goat weed with aromatase inhibitors (MSKCC, Epimedium). Show the label to your pharmacist.
